Sal Sottosanti Sr. | Founder
Sal Sottosanti Sr. is the founder of Sal’s Landscaping. He immigrated to the United States from Italy in the late 1970s. After working his day job, he spent evenings and weekends mowing lawns and taking on small landscaping projects to support his family. As his client base grew, he decided to pursue landscaping full time, officially founding Sal’s Landscaping in the summer of 1979. Starting with just a pickup truck and a push mower, the business quickly grew under Sal’s leadership. While Sal Sr. no longer runs the business, it’s not uncommon to see him on job sites and interacting with customers.
Sal “Sal” Sottosanti Jr. | Co-owner
Sal Jr. grew up in the family business, learning the ins and outs of landscaping from a young age alongside his father. Today, as co-owner of Sal’s Landscaping, he oversees the day-to-day operations of the company’s landscaping and design services. Known for his attention to detail and hands-on approach, Sal Jr. is dedicated to delivering high-quality work and building lasting relationships with clients.
Calogero ‘Carl’ Sottosanti | Co-owner
Carl Sottosanti has been part of the family business since childhood. As co-owner of Sal’s Landscaping, he oversees the finance team and leads the lawn maintenance division. Drawing on his finance degree from Albright College, Carl ensures the business runs smoothly behind the scenes while maintaining high standards across Sal’s lawn maintenance services.
Brad Skipper | Head of Hardscaping
Brad Skipper has been with Sal’s Landscaping for over two decades and manages the company’s hardscaping division. He brings a wide range of knowledge and expertise in the art of masonry. Brad’s attention to quality and detail is what truly sets Sal’s hardscape projects apart.
Matt Scahaffer | Head of Landscape Design & Pools
Matt Schaffer joined the Sal’s Landscaping team in 2017, bringing with him over 25 years of experience in the industry. He holds a B.S. in Landscape Contracting with a minor in Horticulture from Penn State, and is certified by both ICPI and CMA. Matt is responsible for landscape design and leads the company’s pool division.
Kevin Lamphere | Head Arborist
Kevin Lamphere is an ISA Certified Arborist who joined the Sal’s team in 2025. With over 22 years of experience in landscape and tree care, he brings expert knowledge of the art and science of tree maintenance to create healthy, visually appealing outdoor environments. Kevin’s passion for his profession shines through in every project, ensuring top-quality and safe care for his clients’ properties.
